Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], November 3 (StoryVilla): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh has launched its ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign, accusing the Congress and the INDIA bloc of attempting to create political instability and undermine democratic institutions in the country.

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary on Tuesday alleged that opposition parties were trying to mislead the public and create unrest by referring to political developments in neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Speaking to reporters, Chaudhary said a sting operation aired on television channels had allegedly exposed attempts by opposition leaders to destabilise the country. He maintained that India's democratic system was strong and deeply rooted across society.

He said the BJP was organising the ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ rally to make people aware of what he described as attempts to create instability in the country.

Chaudhary also criticised the Congress over its electoral performance in Bihar, Rajasthan and other regions, claiming that the party was frustrated by repeated electoral defeats. He challenged Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to debate the issues in Parliament.

Referring to recent MLC elections conducted through ballot papers, the BJP leader claimed that the results had favoured his party. He said the Congress should reflect on its continued absence from power in several regions.

Chaudhary also referred to appeals made by traders in Delhi to Rahul Gandhi regarding the timing of protests after Diwali, claiming that demonstrations could affect business activities. He reiterated that the opposition should raise its concerns through parliamentary debate.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey announced that the BJP would organise a ‘Loktantra Bachao Yatra’ under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Pandey accused the Congress, its allies and the Samajwadi Party of weakening democratic institutions and undermining constitutional values. He said the BJP would oppose any attempt to destabilise elected governments.

Uttar Pradesh BJP Vice President Neeraj Singh also defended the campaign, stating that thousands of people were expected to participate in the foot march. He alleged that opposition parties were pushing the country towards anarchy and said the march would register public protest against what he described as violations of democratic and constitutional principles.

Cabinet Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary further alleged that the Congress had pursued an agenda of creating political instability since being voted out of power through democratic elections.

He said the BJP's public awareness campaign would continue from November 3 to November 5, with the objective of informing people about the party's concerns regarding the opposition's political activities.

The BJP has positioned the nationwide ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign as a counter to the opposition's allegations and political campaign against the ruling party.
